Hank is headed South

Hank has decided to become a Longhorn -- a Texas Longhorn that is.  Patrick and Toni came today to pick up Hank and take him to his new home in Austin, Texas.  Patrick says that he wanted a cardigan -- because he had read that they are a big dog in a small package.  That definitely describes Hank.  We will miss the boy --- but, glad that he has an "only dog" family of his own.

Holy cow ...what a weekend!

Where to start?  This weekend was the annual Three Trails Cardigan Welsh Corgi Club Speciality.   This year the shows were held in Springfield, Missouri and had a nice entry of about 40 Cardi's.  On Friday there was a puppy sweepstakes and then the show.  We decided to take 7 month old puppy girl Gloria for her show debut.  She started out with a bang by winning Best in Sweepstakes, under breeder judge Dr. Barbara Merickel and then Winner's Bitch under breeder judge Vivian Moran.  Then on Saturday she won Winner's bitch and then Best of Winners under breeder judge Marilyn Van Vliet.  Saturday she earned a 3 point major and then Sunday a 5 point major.  We are so proud of this girl.   Here is a couple of pictures of Gloria and the loot that she won.

Then the icing on the cake was Brady a boy that I bred was Winners Dog on Saturday.  Brady is full litter brother to our Willow.  Here is a picture of Brady boy in the ring with his owner Nancy O.

Hank has found a home

We had quite a few inquiries for Hank.  Fortunately we have found a wonderful home for him.  Here are a few pictures of the boy having fun yesterday.  He is such a happy boy!

Hank is looking for a home ....

Here is a picture of Hank.  Isn't he fine looking fellow?  Hank will make some lucky family a wonderful pet. Hank is lead and crate trained.  Although not 100% reliable in the house -- he is making great progress.  He gets along great with all the other dogs and loves my grandkids (age 3 and 4).  He is not a high energy puppy -- but is very eager to please.  He is super smart and learned basic commands -- sit and come very quickly.  Here is a picture of Hank taken a couple of weeks ago.

I will get some more pictures up in a few days when the weather is a little nicer.  Feel free to contact me at mark.clarke@cox.net if you would like more information on Hank.

Gideon News

Gideon won a big 4 point major this weekend to earn his championship.  He will now be known as Champion Davenitch Valiant Warrior of Giants Dance (pending AKC confirmation).  We are proud of our boy.  Here is a picture of him winning a few weeks ago.  Thanks to Linda William, professional handler, who does a great job showing my dogs.

In other Gideon news, he sired his first litter with Sadie (Notz-Gdance Little Sadie).  Both parents are OFA hips "Good" and fluff free.

We have ears

The Cybil x Miro pups got their ears this week.  We are keeping two of the pups a boy we are calling Hank and his sister Gloria.  These pups have nice big ears.  So we ended up taping them.  Although the ears aren't "perky" just yet they will be have a few more days of taping.

Pupdate

The puppies are getting big --thirteen weeks.  Here are a few pix of the pups.   They are all getting ears.  So far, we are really pleased with this litter.  Hank and Gloria are still living here as we grow them on to see how they turn out for show dogs.  The bottom picture is of their sister Mandy.  She is loved and spoiled by her mom who sent me this great picture.  All of these puppies have fantastic temperaments!

The puppies are leaving home

The puppies started leaving home late last week.  Sharon Nottingham came and picked up her girl on Friday afternoon.  Later in the day Kayla picked up Mandy.  The next day Brett and his brother Michael drove down from Illinois to pick up Archie.  I am so thankful these puppies have gone to such great homes.  I am keeping the dark brindle girl that we are calling Gloria.  My son Adam and daughter in law Jessica are keeping a brindle boy named Hank.

Gideon's big win

Gideon went to the Harrison, AR for the North Arkansas Kennel Club shows a few weeks back.  He did extremely well  -- going Best of Breed over 4 champion on Saturday for a 3 pt. major.  Gideon has both his majors and only needs single points to earn his championship.  We have an exciting breeding planned for this boy later this summer.  Stay tuned!

Looking for a home ..

We have one fluffy boy left from our Dice X Cybil litter.  He is confident -- but, laid back and mellow.  He will make a great addition to a family that wants a low maintenance / laid back pup.
The puppies will turn 7 weeks this coming Thursday and will be ready for their new homes the following week.  All puppies leave here with their first immunization, wormed and a health guarantee.  If you are interested in this boy feel free to email me at mark.clarke@cox.net or call 479-466-8836 (after 5 PM CST is best).  UPDATE:  This boy has found a home with Brett in Illinois.  He will be leaving us soon.

Puppy Socialization

The grandkids, Wren and Duncan came over to help Grandpa socialize the puppies today.  Everyone had a great time except one of the boys.  He seemed to be bored by the entire process.  The puppies are 5 weeks.  We still have one of the boys available as a fantastic pet for some lucky family.

The puppies big adventure

Today we had beautiful weather here in NW Arkansas.  This was an opportunity to get the puppies outside for the first time.  The loved being out and about stretching their legs.  They even decided to have dinner out on the lawn.

Group shot -- they are learning the word "cookie"

Introducing Lefty.  He appears to be a fluffy so he will probably be available to a pet home.  He has the best personality.  Very mellow and loving.

This is two of the girls.  Both look very promising as show potential puppies.

This is Rusty.  Rusty also looks promising.  If he turns out it would be great to see him get into a show home.

Pup update -- four weeks

The puppies are doing great.  They are eating on their own even though Cybil will slip in the whelping box to give them a snack every once in a while.  She is such a good momma dog.  Very attentive to her babies.  Here are a few pictures that I took of the brood today.
The puppies are very busy.  They have toys but seem to prefer playing with the milk jug!

The puppies are learning how to climb up the side of the whelping box.  It won't be long and they will be escaping.

We met Pandora's new mom Kim in Rolla Missouri today.  Here is a picture of Kim and Pandora.  Pandora has found a great home with Kim and her two kids and their Chihuahua.  Can't wait to see pictures of the family together.

3 week old puppy pics

The puppies are growing  up.  They celebrated their first "real meal" tonight.  It was messy but they all got the hang of it.  Here are a few pictures after they have all been semi-cleaned up.

Here is a picture after the photo shoot.  Cybil is finishing up the meal and doing clean up.

Gideon's big win

Gideon won his first major in Louisville, KY a couple of weeks ago.  Thanks to handler Linda Williams for doing such a good job.  Gideon is entered in several shows this Spring.  I am optimistic we can add more points towards his championship.

Pup updates

The puppies are 5 days old today.  Sadly we lost the tiniest brindle boy.  However the remaining 5 are "hale and hardy".  Cybil is being a good mom and the pups are gaining weight quickly.  If you interested in a puppy let us know.  We won't make a determination of show or pet until 8 weeks.  At that time we will be able to definitively determine which of the pups are available.

Here are a few pictures taken today.
